Jason Mundok Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I have a user out in the field who does not have permission to delete records in certain tables to avoid accidents (customers, equipment, etc.). When a power user in the office deletes a customer record from the hosted solution, MirrorSync tries to delete the record on the local database but throws an error because of the user permissions. Is there a best practice work around so that MirrorSync can delete records but the priv set for the field users can still be set to not allow deletions?
Jesse Barnum Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Yes, set the MirrorSync script to run with full access on both the hosted and offline files. Keep in mind that if you do this, record level access will be ineffective for filtering records (you'll get all records, since the script has all access), so if you need to filter records, use the MirrorSync customization script to accomplish that.
Jason Mundok Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Perfect. Thanks, Jesse. That was what I was thinking would work, but I thought it best to check first. Cheers, Jason
