A major problem -- Shipwright's Disease. You'll end up adding some many new features that it'll virtually be a total rewrite!

Why not take the opportunity to rewrite it. Keep people on the old system for a while and take your time doing a good job. Get their ideas, a list of problems with the old system and start working through.

I am interested in using a database designed in 1998 with FM 3 and 4. Wish to convert to 5.5 to use the publish to web interface and add email/fax and other plug ins. Any historical challenges or problems I should be aware of?
