August 26, 201411 yr This is a strange one to me. I have an application where I am entering decimal number (1.5, 3.4....). When I run this application on my client, it allows me to enter the number with a period for the decimal point. But if I run this on WebDirect, it will only accept the comma as a decimal point. I suspect that there is a setting on the WebDirect server that I am missing, but I haven't the foggiest where it is. I have create the fields with explicit period for decimal point format, but this has not helped. Does anyone know where this is set on the WD server??
August 26, 201411 yr Are there two different countries involved? There are different separators in some countries from the US. HTH Lee
August 26, 201411 yr Author There are two countries using this application. One in South America and then the US. But both use the period for a decimal point. We do allow for entry of Spanish accent marks.
August 26, 201411 yr Check two things: 1. What is the setting of your file under File > File Options… > Text > Data Entry? 2. What does your server's machine OS use as the default decimal separator? I have create the fields with explicit period for decimal point format, but this has not helped. Not sure what that means.
