The first line of my startup script is hiding the toolbar but it appears 1-2 seconds before it disappears.

Any way to avoid this ?

Not yet, this is a bug which has been confirmed by FileMaker: http://forums.filemaker.com/posts/fe415e2863

So the good news is they will be working on it. The bad news is that the priority is probably not very high as it is not a solution breaking bug.

Thanks.

Certainly not the most important fix to apply but I would guess that this is not a difficult one.

It still looks unprofessional if you are selling a web solution to your customers.

I haven't tested it yet but it appears 13.05 update solves this problem

  • Addressed an issue where, if the status toolbar was hidden when a FileMaker WebDirect solution was opened, the status toolbar flickered.

Well I tested it and I still get a toolbar for 1-2 seconds at startup before it disappears :(

This is fixed ...

Make sure your file had the menu bar hidden prior to uploading it to the server.

You will have to close it on server, hide all bars then reopen otherwise.

I'm not sure when this change was made, but in FM14v4, in File Options on the Open tab, there is a new button called "Hide All Toolbars" which seems to do the trick of hiding status & menubar when a file opens in WebDirect.

OMFG thank you!  That did the trick.  Wish it was documented in WebDirect.  It would have saves me 3 hours of combing thru forums.
