1. MirrorSync 2.1 ships with new features for FileMaker 13! 360Works announced MirrorSync 2.1 today, a free update with major improvements to speed, reliability, and ease of use. MirrorSync is the best way to use your FileMaker database on an iPad, iPhone, or laptop without a network connection. Work on your own offline database at the fastest possible speed, and sync your changes with FileMaker Server when you have working network access. With this update, MirrorSync 2 is still completely free for a single offline device. Major speed gains with FileMaker Pro and Go 13! MirrorSync 2.1 is now much faster, especially with FileMaker Pro or Go 13. One customer saw his iPad sync times improve from 30 seconds to 6 seconds with this upgrade - 5 times faster! Simplified container field syncing with FileMaker Pro and Go 13 MirrorSync 2.1 now uses standard HTTP networking to transmit all files stored as container data. With this new feature, mobile FileMaker Pro/Go users never need to connect as a guest of FileMaker Server! IT administrators will greatly appreciate this feature, as it does not require port 5003 access, making it firewall-friendly, proxy-friendly, and bandwidth-efficient. Many, many improvements to reliability and sync accuracy It’s taken a lot of work, but we have resolved every single support issue. MirrorSync 2 is being used on a daily basis in countries around the globe for syncing everything from single-table systems with a few records to multi-file solutions with hundreds of thousands of records, and has been deployed on more than 50 new servers per month since launching in December. Fast and easy sync setup MirrorSync has always been known for its simple setup process. MirrorSync 2.1 continues to make improvements in this area with better validation and easier instructions. If you’re upgrading from version 2.0, all you need to do is run the installer, re-copy the script steps to your FileMaker database on the server, and you’re done! Users with older offline files will still be able to sync without interruption, but they will only get the speed benefits after downloading the database with the new script. If you’re new to MirrorSync, you’ll find that the setup time is often less than an hour from installation to your first sync. Dozens of other improvements: MirrorSync can now run on Linux while syncing with FileMaker Server on Mac or Windows Added support for FileMaker Pro 10 and FileMaker Server 10 Exponentially faster conflict resolution for large numbers of records Reduced disk space for internal sync data; added ability to manage disk space per device Solved limitation of 64,000 max characters inherent in FileMaker Go More multithreading for faster syncs Better support for international numeric formats Much better memory efficiency during very large server-to-server initial syncs Many other improvements Pricing MirrorSync 2.1 is FREE for syncing a single FileMaker Pro or Go device (iPad, iPhone, laptop, or desktop) with FileMaker Server. Additional devices are priced as low as $50 each. Purchase today at http://360works.com/filemaker-sync. 4. Hello, It looks like you're trying to create profiles that already exist. You'll need to supply unique information for the profile creation, else Authorize.Net detects a similar profile and prevents you from creating duplicates. Could you verify that you're creating unique profiles? Are you getting this error on profile creation or when running charges? Thanks, Sarah Mulligan Marketing Coordinator 360Works
5. Hi Lloyd, It looks like you're using special characters in your primary keys, and that might be causing some difficulties in parsing the data. Could you please navigate to the MirrorSync page in your browser and click "Report a bug"? This will send us a full log file that might help us better understand what's going on. Thank you, Sarah Mulligan Marketing Coordinator 360Works
6. MirrorSync 2 now available! Featuring faster syncs, server to server, and much more! 360Works is proud to announce the release of MirrorSync 2! MirrorSync 1.5 was selected as the FileMaker Solution of the Year for 2013, and gave everyday FileMaker users the power to synchronize their FileMaker Server files with FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Go. MirrorSync 2 takes syncing to a new level with support for server-to-server synchronization, separate mobile files, field-level conflict resolution, multiple simultaneous device sync, and much more. With these new features, you’ve got the power to take your data with you anywhere, and at our new price points, it doesn’t make any sense not to. Server-to-server sync Now, keep all of your databases in sync, even if they aren’t in FileMaker! Avoid slow ESS shadow tables, complex nightly FTP batch scripts, or finicky ODBC drivers, and instead work with a speedy local database requiring no additional setup for the end user. Sync with any combination of two: MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, generic JDBC database, and FileMaker Server. FileMaker Server to FileMaker Server even supports container data! Configuration is still a snap, as our signature guided process provides a drag and drop interface for mapping fields between disparate databases. Syncs can be triggered manually, or set to run on a schedule you specify. Conflicts are automatically merged at a field level, but if a field is modified in both databases, you can select pre-defined rule sets to determine which is the winner, or be notified by email when this occurs. Mobile device syncing MirrorSync 2 gives you complete control over the mobile sync process. You decide whether to distribute an exact copy of your server-hosted file, or design a separate file optimized for mobile devices and use MirrorSync’s simple drag and drop field mapping to match everything up. We’ve also provided detailed customization options for you to add your own record-filtering and editing logic before records are searched, updated, added, or deleted to provide you with total control. All new conflict resolution New conflict resolution will automatically merge users’ changes to separate fields in the same record. If there is still conflicting data, we’ve provided an all new interface to pick and choose whose information is correct, or change the information right from the conflict screen. In addition, developers can specify during configuration whether end users should resolve conflicts themselves, only by administrators, or automatically based on rule sets. Greatly improved performance Syncing is now lightning fast overall. Some operations, like writing changes to FileMaker Server, are 20 times faster than MirrorSync 1.5. Our testing shows write speeds of 160 records per second for FileMaker server-to-server syncs, and even faster than that for SQL databases. For large record sets, deletion scanning is potentially hundreds of times faster. We’ve tightened up the container syncs, the deletion scans, and much more to provide the fastest and best sync experience for your users. Offline file distribution couldn’t be easier: The re-written download link feature of MirrorSync lets you email your users a simple URL that downloads a highly compressed version of the database, even on iOS. MirrorSync 2 also features... Multiple devices syncing at the same time True multithreaded synchronizations means that MirrorSync 2 lets multiple devices sync to the same server simultaneously. You can now support hundreds of users with offline devices. Configure sync directions and options on a per table basis MirrorSync 2 offers customization options on a per table basis. Sync bidirectional, one way server-to-client or client-to-server based on what table the data is in. Better support for user-visible serial numbers User-visible serial numbers, such as job numbers, invoice numbers, and P.O. numbers have always presented a challenge in offline synchronized solutions. MirrorSync 2 makes this extremely simple by adding a ‘write-back’ feature, which will store the serial number generated on the server back to the offline file when it is synced. Even better setup process. MirrorSync 1.5 had a very easy integration process, and MirrorSync 2 makes it even better. Smarter detection of primary keys and modification timestamps, automatic foreign key detection, simpler layout creation, and automatic schema generation for SQL databases make it a snap to get MirrorSync integrated into your solution. Pricing? How does “free” sound? We thought you’d like that. MirrorSync 2 is FREE for syncing a single FileMaker Pro or Go device with FileMaker Server. If you have a remote employee who needs fast access on their laptop, or if the boss wants instant access to the company sales reports on his iPad, you’ll pay nothing to use MirrorSync. Additional mobile device licenses range from $50-$95 depending on quantity, and server-to-server syncs cost between $500 and $1,600 depending on what type of database servers you’re syncing. By popular request, we’ve also added an unlimited device licensing option for a flat $4,000. MirrorSync 2 is included with the 360Works Portfolio Bundle, which means that current subscribers will receive an additional 10 devices (a $600 value) in addition to the free device license. Upgrade pricing from version 1 is also available. Download your free copy of MirrorSync now from our website: http://360works.com/filemaker-sync
7. Before posting here, please make sure you have updated your plug-ins from 360works.com, your FileMaker, and your Java. Please note 360Works plug-ins require a 32-bit Java Runtime Environment in order to run. FileMaker Pro will prompt you on startup to download the appropriate software if it is not found on your computer. But FileMaker Server has no such prompt, and you may be required to manually download a 32-bit JRE if you do not already have one. On Windows, you will need a 32-bit version of Java 7 from Oracle. On Mac, you will need the latest Java 6 update from Apple. For Mac OS 10.6, click here. For Mac OS 10.7+, click here. If you continue to experience difficulties, please feel free to post here or contact us at 360works.com.
8. Hello Pierre, Currently the functionality is limited to where AIM can send SMS. I believe with a custom plug-in it would be possible to use a different SMS service that would support EU carriers, but that would be outside the scope of Email 2. If you're interested in that sort of development, please let me know and I can put you in touch with our project coordinator. Thank you, Sarah Mulligan

10. Hello John, While Plastic doesn't formally support line item information, you could supply the line item field to a transaction as an additional parameter, and Plastic will send this value to the gateway. Add it in addition to a regular transaction as a key=value pair / additional parameter. For example: Set Variable [$result Value: CCProcessPayment( merchantAPILoginID, merchantTransactionKey; chargeAmount; cardNumber; expDate; "x_line_item=" & Payment::Lineitem)] If you have any questions, please let me know and I'd be happy to help!
11. Hmm, it looks like it's mistaking an update action for an insertion. Could you file a bug report? This would send us a log file so I could see exactly how and what is happening.
12. Hi Daniel, It looks like something is failing the FileMaker validation. Could you do a search on your iPad and see if there are any duplicates that could be causing this error? You may also have other fields that have validation on them that are failing as well. Thank you, Sarah Mulligan Marketing Coordinator 360Works
13. Hello Mark, You may want to check the account credentials from Authorize.net. From their website: If you follow the steps above, and continue to experience problems, please let us know and we can continue to troubleshoot the issue. Thank you! Sarah Mulligan Marketing Coordinator 360Works
14. Hello! Under File > Manage > External Data Sources, you'll find the "source" that MirrorSync points to when uploading and downloading containers. You should have an external source and an internal source, and can double check the domain names of both. To make sure that all your ports / domain names / etc are correct, try opening the database that's hosted on the server from the external machine. If you can open the file as a guest of FileMaker Server, all your ports and domains should work fine. Double check those data sources, and let me know if they are matching what you're using to log in with. If you are still experiencing problems, please don't hesitate to contact us- we'd be happy to help you troubleshoot the issue! Thank you, Sarah Mulligan Marketing Coordinator 360Works
15. Hello Daniel, It seems like MirrorSync may have outdated information about your database. If no changes have been made since you downloaded the file, try opening the MirrorSync configuration client and editing the configuration. Page through by hitting next until you reach the screen where you can copy the scripts. Recopy the script and update the MirrorSync script to have the correct fields. And as far as renaming the file name-- that doesn't have any affect at all, so no worries there. If you continue to experience difficulties, please let me know and I'd be happy to help troubleshoot further. Thank you, Sarah Mulligan Marketing Coordinator 360Works
16. Hello Jake, The dialog box that appears when doing a sync will show the success or failure of a sync to the user. If I am understanding you correctly, you want the following things to happen: User opens file, the first MirrorSync script is triggered with on open script. User makes changes, then completes a second sync. The problem occurs when your opening script did not complete correctly, not necessarily the second sync, correct? The script will return either a 0 on success or a -1 on a failure. It will also set the MirrorSync::Status field. What you can do is check the MirrorSync Status field for either "Sync failed/aborted" or "Sync completed successfully." You could check this field after doing the opening script, and then write some logic with your own scripts to switch them to a layout that would warn them not to enter data and to try syncing again when they have connectivity. There may be other ways to accomplish this, but I do know it is possible. If you would like more information, or have more questions about how MirrorSync behaves, please let me know and I'd be happy to answer your questions. I would recommend downloading the demo (it's fully featured!) and try integrating it yourself. If you run into any problems and would prefer us to take care of it for you, we can also look into your database and devise a solution through our consulting process-- if you are interested in this option, please let me know. Thank you!
17. Introducing Plastic 2! June 4, 2013 — 360Works is proud to announce the release of Plastic 2! The Plastic 2 plug-in makes it easy to process secure, SSL-encrypted credit card payments from FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Server, and FileMaker Web Publishing. Plastic 2 can run charges and transactions with credit-card swipers, card-not-present accounts, direct check debiting, and much more. Plastic 2 introduces profile-based payments, or tokenization, which save payment and customer data to the gateway. Profile-based payments: PCI compliance made easy Profile-based payments, also known as tokenization, save payment and customer information with the merchant provider instead of in your database. By keeping this sensitive data out of your solution, obtaining PCI compliance is much simpler. Use this stored information to process payments quickly and securely, without having to re-key or swipe card data multiple times. Using 360Works Plastic, the database only stores a customer token (instead of actual card data) which can then be used to run future charges. Subscriptions and recurring payments Set up recurring billing to automatically charge customers on a schedule. Save the payment information straight to the gateway, not your database, along with a specified time period and frequency. Bill customers on flexible, customized schedules, perfect for non-profit or donation campaigns. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Direct debits and ACH payments With Plastic 2, you can take an electronic check with Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments. Supported with six gateways, this payment method will process a direct debit sale, void, or refund straight to a bank account. Never lose a sale due to payment methods again with ACH payments—visit the website to learn more! Many new gateways! Process payments with your preferred provider, right in FileMaker. Plastic 2 now supports 12 total gateways, giving you complete choice over which payment gateway to use, or which gateway provides the best rates for your account. Plastic 1 gateways: Authorize.Net PayPal PayFlow Pro New in Plastic 2! First Data RealEx Merchant eSolutions Merchant Warrior PayTrace Moneris USA ePay InternetSecure VirtualMerchant TransFirst Easy integration with demos and documentation Integrating all these new features, as well as Plastic favorites like card swipes, authorizations, and more, is a snap with a brand-new demo file that features scripts ready made for your solution. Simply find the feature you need in the list of scripts and copy it straight into your FileMaker store, point of sale system, eCommerce site or even your invoicing system and more. Our new documentation website, http://docs.360works.com, will also provide tons of guidance and instructions on how to implement each gateway for your FileMaker solution! Plastic 2 is our first 64 bit plug-in, meaning it will run in the custom web publishing engine in FileMaker Server 12. 64 bit versions of Plastic 1 and other 360Works plug-ins are coming soon, so make sure to subscribe to our RSS feed, Facebook, or Twitter for notifications. For more information... With these features and improvements, now Plastic 2 is not only the easiest way to charge credit cards with FileMaker, it's also the most full-featured. Charge credit cards securely, knowing that Plastic 2 takes care of the work for you. Plastic 2 is included with the 360Works Portfolio Bundle, which means that current subscribers will receive a Plastic 2 Enterprise License for free. It can be purchased separately as a $149 single user license, $195 Workgroup license for 10 users, or $695 Enterprise license for unlimited users and FileMaker Server / Web Publishing deployment. 18. Hi Martin, Thanks for the information! It sounds like either Apache/IIS has a problem, or web publishing is not functioning correctly. Does your web publishing engine happen to run on a different machine (two machine deployment)? In any case, the way to solve this issue is to run the server deployment from FileMaker Server Admin Console. If there is a problem with the web publishing engine, this will fix it. If it can't talk to IIS or Apache in the right way, then at this point it should let you know how to fix it. After running the wizard, try the sync again. Let me know how it goes! -Sarah
19. Hello Martin, Could you paste the exact error message you are getting? Also, can you open a browser from where you are trying to sync and navigate to: YourExternalIP/fmi/xml/FMPXMLRESULT.xml?-dbnames Do you see an error code here? Can you also navigate to the MirrorSync page? Thank you, Sarah Mulligan 360Works
20. iOS Downloads, NEW Installer and More... 360Works MirrorSync, a FileMaker synchronization tool, has been updated to version 1.5. This version is a free upgrade for all current users, and includes new features and bug fixes. We've given the MirrorSync installer a complete makeover, setting MirrorSync up as its own process. Also included in this update, our new iOS download feature makes distributing modified and new copies easy. Download and install the update at 360works.com/mirrorsync Download links: Get your changes to them faster than ever. Now, you can distribute new copies of your file quickly and easily. Make modifications or layout updates? It's no problem with our new iOS features. Users are given a link that is easily accessible and downloads the latest copy of your file with all your changes. Disable the link at any time to prevent unauthorized access. Copies of files can still be downloaded straight from MirrorSync and emailed, sent via Dropbox, or any other method. Independent MirrorSync Installer MirrorSync now runs in its own process, installing completely separately from the Web Publishing Engine. This means that you can run MirrorSync where most convenient, even installed on a different computer than FileMaker Server. By having its own separate installer, MirrorSync is more stable, and reduces the load on the Web Publishing Engine. Our new installer also comes with a lightweight admin application, allowing you to view the current installations of MirrorSync and stop, restart, and start as needed. Hosting providers who provide MirrorSync will be pleased to know the installation process is much easier for multiple installations of MirrorSync. Hold down ALT on Windows when installing to define a new name for an instance, or select hosting provider installation in Mac. Either way, the process is now completely automated. Full changelog Features and Improvements in 1.5 NEW! Download links- instead of downloading a database and sending a copy of it to your users, you can generate a URL that you send to your users. Whenever they trigger this URL, it will download the most recent copy of the database from the server. Complete overhaul of the installer, which functions outside of WPE- makes both MirrorSync and the WPE more stable, and users no longer need to run MirrorSync on the same WPE machine. Now includes a native Mac Installer, certified for use with Mountain Lion and Gatekeeper. NEW! interface with easy to read icons Bug fixes and improvements, including a bug with adding new tables to the sync configuration, launching MirrorSync for the first time, and empty modification timestamps. Download the update today, or try a free demo of MirrorSync at 360works.com.
21. Hello Gordon, This looks like it may be a issue with Mountain Lion. Do you have OS X 10.8? If so, you might need to relax your Gatekeeper settings, found under System Preferences > Security. Once you allow apps to be installed, you shouldn't have any further issues. Please let me know how it goes! Thank you, Sarah Mulligan
22. Ah! I have the bug report here, and will look into it, but it might take me some time to read through. As far as the time zone issue, it's actually not that difficult a fix- take a look at our documentation's section on how to account for users in time zones: http://docs.360works.com/index.php/MirrorSync#Q:_I_have_users_in_different_time_zones._Does_MirrorSync_account_for_that.3F Auto selecting local or server conflict resolution is a feature we would like to have in a future version, but don't currently support. I'll set you know once I read through the bug report with more information. Thank you! Sarah Mulligan
23. Hello Jan, Records were modified on both sides would trigger when the modification timestamp indicates there has been a change since they last synced. If you sync at 8:00 am, then make changes on either the client or the server so that the modification timestamp updates after that point, MirrorSync will treat that as a conflict. It would look at that modification timestamp- let's say at 10:00am- and show that as a conflict, even if the data was the same. It looks at every timestamp AFTER 8:00am. This might also happen if you sync in different time zones. For example, if you synced at 8am on your server's time, but 9am on your iPad, then MirrorSync might see that change as if it happened after the sync. If you submit a bug report, we can look at exactly why MirrorSync is showing conflicts, and if it might be a bug. You can do this by going to your server's address slash MirrorSync page, and clicking the link at the button. As for containers not syncing, there are a few reasons this might happen. The first is that MirrorSync opens the hosted file as a guest to upload container data. If you are behind a firewall, you may need to open port 5003 to allow the container data to stream. The second problem might be with your script and data sources. Take a look at the MirrorSync script and the external data sources. Make sure there are no <unknown> script steps, and the data sources are correct. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you need any clarification on the above, and please keep me updated on how things progress. Thank you, Sarah Mulligan 360Works
24. MirrorSync gets smarter with version 1.43! 360Works MirrorSync, a FileMaker synchronization tool, has been updated to version 1.43. This version is a free upgrade for all current users, and includes new features and bug fixes. MirrorSync is easier than ever to configure, understand, and sync. We've improved the user experience to guide you in simple, plain English. Warning messages throughout are more friendly and easy to understand, and MirrorSync makes sure to double check your work. If data sets have duplicate keys, invalid date or time formats, MirrorSync now finds and shows you potential problems in your solution. We think everyone should be able to sync their solutions easily, without advanced FileMaker knowledge. In addition, MirrorSync is much more memory efficient. Throughout the sync, the server will use less memory and manage available memory much better. This release includes other features and important bug fixes. See the changelog below for details. Download and install the update at http://360works.com/mirrorsync Included in MirrorSync 1.42 If you haven't upgraded to the most recent version, MirrorSync 1.42 included better support for internal and external IP addresses, as well as separate IP addresses for multiple machine deployments. MirrorSync is smart enough to detect if you're syncing inside the network or outside of it, and automatically switching to the correct address seamlessly. Internal users will experience fast speeds within the network, and switch easily when outside of it. Full changelog Features and Improvements in 1.43 More user-friendly, readable error messages throughout MirrorSync Better memory management allows for support for initial sync of very large databases to an empty clone Switched to all numeric values when communicating with client instead of formatted strings for dates, times, and timestamps. This solves a variety of international date formatting issues. Now efficiently detects duplicate primary keys in the FileMaker database and warn the user. This has been our most frequent tech support issue with MirrorSync. Various sync speed improvements MirrorSync is now about 8 megabytes smaller by re-writing some overweight 3rd party libraries Added an ability to submit bug reports from the MirrorSync configuration utility (for bugs that occur in the setup process, not during sync) Bug Fixes in 1.43 Submitting bug reports is now more reliable Re-running a sync from a device after previous sync was canceled should now be more reliable (sometimes used to get a message that sync was still running) Fixed a case where MirrorSync sometimes ran in demo mode even after a valid license key had been registered Fixed a bug during initial sync when using UUIDs, if multiple records had been modified on the server prior to initial sync. Fixed a bug where text that contained HTML escape sequences (" > < etc.. ) was not being sent correctly. Included in MirrorSync 1.42 Now supports configuration of separate internal and external IP addresses, as well as separate IP addresses for 1, 2, and 3 machine server deployments. More reliable communication over slow/unreliable networks Fixed a case where sometimes client would not send modifications to server, if the modification timestamp field was empty (because the field was just added) Located in metro Atlanta, 360Works, a FileMaker Platinum Business Alliance member, has been providing FileMaker-based solutions for 15 years. The company is a leading developer of both shrink-wrapped and custom database design solutions for clients such as NASA, Pixar, US Marines, Make-A-Wish foundation and others. The company is credited for its forward-thinking solutions, dedication and unparalleled client service.
25. Hello Jrie, The companion plugin uses Java, which does not trust self signed certificates or certain authorities. There are no options in the plugin to trust the certificate, but you can import the certificate into Java and let it trust the certificate. Please make sure you find the correct Java directory, as you may have multiple versions of Java installed. You will need to do this for each machine accessing the solution. First, export the certificate from your web server. Use Firefox to go to the https:// address of your server. From the menu bar, go to Tools->Page Info->Security->View Certificate->Details->Export. Leave the format set to 'X.509 Certificate (PEM)' and save the certificate file somewhere on your hard drive. Next, import the certificate into your Java key store. For OS X, go into Terminal and then cd into your Java lib/security directory, like this: cd /Library/Java/Home/lib/security/ On Windows, Java may be installed in your Program Files. Using the Command window running as administrator, use the dir command to navigate to the Java lib/security directory. In both Windows and Mac, run the following command to add the certificate to your keystore. Add sudo to the beginning of the command for Mac users. keytool -importcert -file /path/to/theCertficate.com -trustcacerts -alias myServerName -keystore cacerts Replace /path/to/theCertificate.com with the path to the certificate that you exported in step 1, and replace myServerName with some descriptive name of your server. This can be anything; it's just a reference for if you need to edit/delete it later. You may be prompted for a keystore password - if you've never changed it, it will be 'changeit' or 'changeme'. You'll be asked whether to trust the certificate - just put in 'yes' without quotes. I hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes! Thank you, Sarah Mulligan 360Works
