Self Portal not displayed in Webdirect

Featured Replies

Gents,

I use self portal on my Clients layout to serve two things:

1. display all the records and

2. quick navigate among them.

This portal is not displayed in Webdirect.

Is it possible to make it work?

What's a self-portal? Do you mean "Show Records from Current table" ie Master-Detail portal?

What isn't working? Screen shot of layout mode in FMP and WebDirect would be helpful.

Yeah!

I am not able to make a screenshot right now, but trust me FM doesn't show this kind of portals in Webdirect. At least in my case. I only was able to display a related table portal.

The main reason I need this portal  is a quick navigation.

Then you cannot use a master-detail layout (what you call a "self portal"). It's a new feature introduced in version 17.

However, you can achieve a similar functionality by defining a self-join relationship using the x relational operator. The difference is that such portal will show ALL records in the table (unless you apply portal filtering), not just those in the current found set. Although that too should be possible with some more work.
