Maximum Number of Records Allowed in a db?

Featured Replies

I am archiving many old records into one master db... does anyone know what the maximum number of records allowed are per db?

Hi:

I believe the amount of records is not limited per file. However, each file has a 2GB file SIZE limit.

Thanks for the info!

it might max out at 2.1 or 4.2 billion. Since that is the max of signed on unsigned long intergers.

Not sure though.

From memory the limit is 2G (gig) records or 2GB file size, whichever comes first.

I'm not sure *exactly* how many 2G records is... prolly something like 2,000,000,000 which is "two billion" in USA and "two thousand million" in English speaking countries.

smile.gif For Czechs that is 2 Miliardy or 2 tisice milionu smile.gif

I love the "in English speaking countries" smile.gif

In the ghetto, it's 2 million Gs

and in my native New Yorker tongue, it's "a lotta <expletive> records!" Here in the south: "a big ol' bunch!"

Thanks for the input and education on geographical numeric terms!
