use a ram disk.

FileMaker (as all databases are) is disk based. Therefore every change is written to disk (or cache) upon submission.

FileMaker is not Excel. And Excel not a database.

Create everything in Global fields.

Button SAVE will create new record and it will copy all Globals to proper fields in new record.
