hi, I'm putting together a layout that has these five parts

1. header

2. sub summary - sorted by field A

3. sub summary - sorted by field b

4. body

5. footer

It worked great and then I had to go change it. The problem is that the second sub summary (number 3 sorted by field ^_^ will always start on another page. It will not start directly underneath the first sub summary. There's plenty of room, and it doesn't have the "start on next page option" selected.

I had a similar report previously that worked fine, only difference was the fields are now set to slide up.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

(if it helps I'm on a Mac running os 9, with FM pro 5.5)

Is the subsummary for field A set to give a page feed after each occurrence?

I don't believe it is. The "part definition" has no options checked. Is there another location that that option would be located? It doesn't show up under "part definition".

Do you think the sliding option is the culprit perhpas?

thanks! -wing

In your Sliding/Printing dialog box, did you check "also reduce size of the enclosing part?"

fo each sliding object?

Hi all, thanks for the help. I figured it out.

I selected every item / field in the layout and told them all to slide up. It seems to work now. Not sure why, but it does. (yes, I had reduce size of enclosing part selected)

thanks again.
