Devcon ... Question

I wasn't sure what forum to post this under ... I have a couple of questions about devcon

I am really interested in attending the next conference. My main question is: Is this conference for people useing Filemaker Developer only ... or is it for anyone who devlopes in filemaker at all?

Furthermore ... I would like some input in wether you think that the conference is really worth the money (Be Honest)

Hi,

Devcon is for developers working with FileMaker Pro primarily, though some of the extra features of FMD also rate a mention here and there. You don't have to own or be familiar with FMD to be able to get value out of Devcon.

Whether it is worth the money depends on how much work you do with FMP - and on a range of subjective/personal judgements. Many of the attendees speak highly of Devcon and return year after year - however if your use of FileMaker is more-or-less casual then the financial and personal benefits may not weigh in sufficiently for you.

Really it is for ANYONE using Filemaker, but particularly geared toward those who are in a development role. However it also has business tracks, training tracks, compatible technology tracks (such as XML and other web technologies). It is for people who work with Filemaker, but who are not simply users of a solution.

I would highly recommend DevCon to all. Many will even say that the content of the sessions is nothing, it is the networking and the ability to sit down with just about anyone (developers, consultants, trainers, FMI engineers, FMI executives, plug-in developers, etc) and discuss your situations, your questions, and more.

In addition, it is generally held at a 4-5 star resort. This year it was that the JW Mariott Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix, as it will be next year. This was a FANTASTIC resort and well worth the trip. My wife and I spent several days before and several days after just enjoying the resort.
