Newbies astropol Posted February 5, 2004 Newbies Posted February 5, 2004 Hi guys. I'm trying to find a method of creating a link that takes you to the folder that a file lives in. Essentially a field that becomes a hotlink like on a web page. Clicking on it would take you to the desktop and open the folder for you. I'm sure there's a way to do it but can't dig it up at the moment. thanks -andrew
Vaughan Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 What OS? (That's a pretty important piece of information.)
Newbies astropol Posted February 5, 2004 Author Newbies Posted February 5, 2004 Mac OSX and Windows 2000 Would like to put in a standard link //Computer/Folder/SubFolder/
EddyB Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 On Win 2K you can use the open URL script step for this: Open URL[No Dialog, "C:Documents and SettingsAdministratorDesktopYourFolder"] Not sure on a mac, obviously it would be a different path. Ed.
Joseph31 Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 That works great...Three questions: 1)Is there any way to open a Specific file in a folder? 2)Is there a way to have the link change the path automatically to a new file everytime a new contact is entered? 3)Can a remote person use this also?
