Sergeant Ron Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Just curious since I'd not see it documented anywhere... Is FM still using Triple-DES for it's SSL encryption or have they enhanced it to AES?
fmpwnerer Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 FileMaker has made no real changes to security since server 7s release. If they had enhanced security, you can be sure that it would have been marketed. The current encryption hasn't been an issue for military and government organizations, so I'm sure they are not feeling much pressure to make any enhancements at this time.
Lee Smith Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Hi fmpwnerer, and welcome to the Forum. Your Icon reminds me of the Move Weekend at Bernie's Lee
fmpwnerer Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Thank you for the warm welcome! Its actually a nod to an internet TV show pure pwnage. Its kind of childish, but it entertains me :(
Steven H. Blackwell Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 If they had enhanced security, you can be sure that it would have been marketed. Maybe so; maybe no. Steven
Sergeant Ron Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 Thanks guys. Is anyone aware if the new Remote Admin in FMS 9 uses the same encryption as the client - server connection.
