I wanted to add the iMAC to the network and wanted to know if it is a bad idea, or if I need Filemaker server. 5 computers total on network.

If one client is performing a long print script, for example, it can slow the other clients to a crawl. You will also need to tune up your layouts for best display on both platforms. -bd
