Newbies cindyg Posted April 4, 2008 Newbies Posted April 4, 2008 I haven't used filemaker in almost 20 years - before the days of the internet and email!! So, now that i am starting again with Filemaker 9, I want to know how to integrate w/ address book on my Mac. Two questions: 1. I created a database w/ addresses and emails. I already have many of these already in my Address Book, but Filemaker has more complete info on each person. Can I overwrite Addressbook somehow? 2. Can i send out emails to groups directly from Filemaker? Thanks, Cindy PS I wrote FM Server 9... but I'm not using a server at all - which isn't an option...not even sure what that means. I am on my own computer not connected to any others...
bdarch Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Same question here - my searches of the fm fora were not productive. There is a Plug-in for version 8 that I found. Any feedback on that packaged script or other techniques would be appreciated. It's hard to keep an office's contact list organized and in one place. For us we want FMP to be the mother lode, allowing updates from FMP to Address Book but not typically the other way around.
looter Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 I also have questions about Address book integration. Can you do Bento style integration? Is there a more helpful / more useful FileMaker forum?
mr_vodka Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Is there a more helpful / more useful FileMaker forum? Yes try this one: http://www.fmforums.com : Anyway, you could try signing up for TechNet for $99 and see if someone in there can help you but you will find that the members of the FM community tends to drift around between all forums, so many of the same people in there frequent these forums as well.
Lee Smith Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Is there a more helpful / more useful FileMaker forum? No. For more on your interface need, and Bento, read the different posts in the Bento Topic Area. Lee
