Anyone find it strange that FMP10 for windows requires XP SP3, while FMPA10 only requires SP2?

Hi Dana.

There seems to be some conflicting information from FMI.

Here it says that both need SP2

Pg. 8

Then here it says SP3.

I've just tried to install on XP SP2: did not get far. The message is "You cannot install FileMaker Server 10 on this version of Windows". I am downloading SP3 and will let you know if it is successful.

What version of Windows are you running?

I am on XP Pro SP2 and its fine,

Oh never mind. You are talking about Server. Dana's post was regarding Pro.

oops my bad...

sorry to confuse the topic.

I tried FMS10 on XP Pro SP3, and still have problems (was OK with FMS9 on SP2).

Just testing at this point.

and confirmed by M. Blackwell that FM Server will not work on XP...

(looks like we need to upgrade our test machine)

will work only with server OS

Actually, the tech specs say that sp3 is "recommended" and the installation guide says sp2 is "minimum requirements".
