A client has a file with just under 6,000 records. This file is listed at 1.84GB (that's right, gigabytes!). They did a "save as compressed copy", and the compressed copy was also 1.84GB.

They're on a Compaq running Win98 and using FMPv4.

I realize that there are a goodly number of fields, but the file size is ridiculous ... isn't it?

It HAS to be full of bitmapped graphics! Or the disk has a serious problems.
