I read the help and I still can't export my data. I Find the records I need to export, I sort them, but then the File->Export Records is not available.

Are you sure your level of password acess to this file allows you to export data?

When I open the database it asks me for a password, I type it and then I can view the dadatabse. I WANT TO GET RID OF THE PASSWORD. How can I do that. I want to help and it doesn't make any sense at all.

Please make a suggestion because that database hold 2,000 records of student data and we need to export it to tab delimited text file.

Did you developed the solution/database?

Are you authorized to export data?

You may need to contact the developer or administrator of these files to gain access.

Most likely you have a "user" level password that will prevent you from

modifying the structure of the database.

Hope this helps.

If you are the owner/creator of the files and have lost your master password you need to contact FileMaker to have them crack the password for you. (This can be timely and costly.)

Finally I realized there were two passwords, a user one and an administrative.
