peter100 Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Hi Everyone, Very soon I'll be transferring files from FM6 to FM11. I'm using some external plugins and expect some work to be done to transfer all files. I was wondering if it's possible to run both versions of FM alongside each other so I can take a couple of weeks to get all my files in order again? Thanks, Peter
Ocean West Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Between 6 and 11 you should be able to work with both files open at the same time ( if your OS will let you ) - however typically I would probably convert a copy of the solution to 11 and use that as a basis to rebuild the new solution, keeping the v6 version around for reference.
peter100 Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 Thanks Stephen, That's the idea indeed, transferring the files to 11 but keeping 6 just in case I need to fall back. Most files I use for maintaining websites and it would be very inconvenient to be out for a few weeks while working out the kinks. Working with both versions alongside also gives me the chance to practise a bit first before I start transferring the actual files. Thanks, Peter
