CodeAcademy offers free PHP lessons

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here, but as somebody that's gone through about 3/4 of the CodeCademy's PHP course, it's pretty rough around the edges.  A lot of the time, your Syntax has to be PERFECT in order to make it to the next step, and their instructions could use a lot of work to be more clear.  That being said, it's the best free resource I've found on the web (so far).

If you're looking for a good paid alternative (and relatively cheap paid alternative, at that) http://www.tutsplus.com is the best resource I've found.  They have a couple of free courses you can sit through to get an idea of the quality of courses they offer.
