Dynamic Value list from global variable

Featured Replies

Hi Everybody,

I am newbie with FM and I have a global variable that contains several values in different lines. I would like to insert automatically these text values in a field as a value list with checkboxes, could anyone help me to solve it?

Thank you very much,

Wardiam

Have a look at the Virtual Value List module I put together. It does exactly what you describe. Are you still using FileMaker 7? Version 7 did not have variables. The file in the module I put together is written for FileMaker 12, but the concept worked in earlier versions; I suppose I could throw it in a .fp7 for you if you really need it.

Hi jbante,

when I try to open the VirtualValueList.fmp12 file, it is converted, I don't know why, and this new file is very strange. Could you check it or send to me the file by private email?

Thanks

I just downloaded it and it opens with no problems.

BTW, the buttons in the footer, Modular FileMaker and GitHub are links, you need to use the Navigation buttons in the Header at the top of the layouts.

Thanks Lee, I have tried to download all repository as a ZIP file and it has worked. Now I can see perfectly the FM file.
