We have a script which creates a PDF. Nothing fancy, go to layout, Save Records as PDF. However, if the PDF is generated from the Windows platform the document opens as SECURED in Adobe Reader and content cannot be copied (e.g. text) whereas the same script run from the Mac works fine. Strangely if you use a different application to open the PDF (to Adobe Reader) then copying is available.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Done lots of testing between platforms and PDF applications. The Save Records as PDF script step has no security settings, very basic. Also tried all different compatibility versions.

The only thing I cannot try is different versions of FM 12 (we have 12v4).

I happen to be having PDF inconsistency problems this week as well. In my case the Windows-generated PDFs are not secured (at least not to my knowledge), but the text can't be selected and, most importantly for me, any http URLs that are automatically clickable in Mac-generated versions are not "live" in PDFs created from Windows FMP. Would love to hear ideas on what's behind this. Also using 12v4.
