I believe that when i was using 3.0 version I use to open more than 50 files and this 5.x version does not allow me to open more than 50 files...

Does anyone know why? And is there any patch for this issue?

It's a "fact of life" ... a FM client cannot open more than 50 files (it's becoming annoying though)

The "patch" is to host you files on FM Server, which can host 125 files. Using FM Server as a host, client machines can open and close files as needed to manage the number of open files.

The answer to your question is the same as why you car doesn't hold 100 gallons of gasoline...design choices were made in creating the product.
