March 24, 200322 yr Looking to build an image database for search on an intranet. Thumbnail names would be calculated within the database, html page would call the thumbnail from a huge hard drive. Could it handle 500,000 records (finds only, no sorts!)? Or 1 Million? Has anyone pushed the limits? How many records do you have in a database online? Got a link?! Thanks ...
March 24, 200322 yr Let's say one record is 1k. 1000 records = 1 mb. 1,000,000 records = 1 gb One kilobyte per record makes a big difference with that many records! You'll have to do some tests to see how big your records are. Once you hit the 2 gb file-size limit, your data will be toast.
