MikeK Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 I have a client file that when opened, asks you for a password (for editing) if no password is entered then the file opens and the editing features are disabled. The problem is this: I got tired of having to hit enter on the password screen upon starting the app. and decided to go into the document preferences and set it to open the file using the default password. It does that just fine. The problem is that I can no longer open the file to edit it.....can't figure out how to reverse this. Any suggestions?
LiveOak Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 On the Mac hold down the "Option" key when you open the file. On the PC hold down the "Shift" key. The password entry dialog will be displayed. -bd
Fitch Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 Hold down option key (Mac) or -- what is it on Windows, Ctrl or Shift? -- anyway, this forces the password dialog to come up when you open the file.
Razumovsky Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 I have always used ctrl+shift for PC. Could just be one of them though...
MikeK Posted July 29, 2003 Author Posted July 29, 2003 Thanks for the help.....that fixed the problem.
