ThePopp Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 I am using FileMaker 5.5 on a Windows 2000 platform. Does anybody know what the maximum number of records is for a single database? Thanks, ThePopp
SteveB Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 The limit for a single file is maximum storage of 2 Gig, so it depends on the size of your records. Steve
transpower Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 AFAIK, the same as FileMaker 6, which is 100 million (p. 21 in Using FileMaker 7). The limit for FileMaker 7 is 64 quadrillion (over the life-time of the file).
ThePopp Posted December 30, 2004 Author Posted December 30, 2004 My file size is only 91.5 MB, but the number of records is 91911. If I add another record, I can enter information, but as soon as I hit enter, the information is no longer editable. I am the admin BTW. If I move to a different record and return, the data is gone.
ThePopp Posted December 31, 2004 Author Posted December 31, 2004 Aside from being a really weird number, that didn't have anything to do with the problem. Not sure what happened, but I run the recover utility on the db and it works fine now. If this was a Microsoft product I would chant my normal mantra "Yet another fine Microsoft product..."
