Darren Emery Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I have searched numerous times for an answer to this one - but I'm stumped. Using FM 5.0 - I need to re-order my layouts in the pop up tab. The command in the layout menu is there, but grayed out, so I cannot use it! Any suggestions?
Lee Smith Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Are there passwords to this file? Is this a file you made?
Ocean West Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 are you the only user to the database, is it local to your machine? (not hosted / shared)
Darren Emery Posted March 5, 2008 Author Posted March 5, 2008 to answer questions above, I didn't create the file, but I'm the manager of the db now that the creator no longer works here. As far a I know, my password is the highest level, I can modify everything else. The file is on a server that is access by about 15 units. BTW - thanks for the quick responses!
mr_vodka Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 The file should be unserved first and then you should make changes to your layout order.
Darren Emery Posted March 5, 2008 Author Posted March 5, 2008 unserved? I ask all users to disconnect - or force via server before I try to make changes. Is this the same as unserve?
Lee Smith Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 If you have the highest access code, you should be able to review the all passwords groups under the Access Privileges. If so, you can verify that you hold the highest password, if not than I feel your access isn't allowing you to change the layouts. HTH Lee
Darren Emery Posted March 5, 2008 Author Posted March 5, 2008 Looks like I do not have master access - I cannot find the Access Privileges command on the file menu - which means I'm not logged on at the highest level, according the the help file. Thanks for the guidance - I'll post back when I get help from my boss regarding access and let you know if that solved the issue.
Vaughan Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I'm pretty sure that layouts can only be re-ordered in FMP 5/6 on files that are opened locally: ie, not hosted with FM Server.
