Problem, Copy/Paste into all fields unknowingly?!?

I have a problem occur today with my filemaker database. The system is networked and while two of us were modifying/viewing records, my colleague was copy/pasting data from one record to another using command c and command v. I have successfully copied and pasted from one record to another in the past but this time when she pasted into one record it pasted the data into the field in all records. I have never seen this before without a script and since she left the field not knowing what happened there is no option to undo. We have a backed up version from the day before but I'm more interested in knowing why and how this happened, so it doesn't happen again. Any advice/suggestions is great appreciated.

FYI this was in Browse mode, single record view

Not possible, sorry. The only command that replaces data in all records is "Replace Field Contents..." which brings up a dialog to confirm.

Would this happen because it's on a filemaker server?

Agree with Barbs: replace command.

Unfortunately there is no way to prevent ID10T errors. :D

I usually remove the Replace and Delete All Records commands from the menu set, and either remove or put a dialog on the Duplicate Record command.
