Newbies Rex J. Covington Posted December 11, 2012 Newbies Posted December 11, 2012 I have a FileMaker database that is formatted as dd/mm/yyyy as default. Any New date field I put on a layout, I have to format each one to mm/dd/yyyy. This is a pain in the butt! Any computer I try it on, it dose the same thing. How do I fix this problem?
comment Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Any New date field I put on a layout, I have to format each one to mm/dd/yyyy. That's not a solution, because the entry to the field must still follow the d/m/y format being used by the file. Either set the file (in File > File Options > Text) to 'Always use current system settings' or - preferably - save a copy of the file as clone (no records), open it on a computer set to use the m/d/y date format, and import your records.
