laker_42 Posted May 28, 2002 Posted May 28, 2002 Does anyone know how to key an em dash into FMP? I don't know if it is even possible. I tried looking for special characters available in FMP but couldn't find it. I would appreciate any info you can give me on this. Thanks, John
Vaughan Posted May 28, 2002 Posted May 28, 2002 Mac or Windows? On a Mac use the standard key strokes Option+Hyphen or Shift+Option+Hyphen. (You can use Key Caps in the Apple manu to see all the characters and their key strokes.) On Windows there used to be a little application that displayed all the characters and told the ALT code needed to generate them. I just had a look in Win98 but cannot find it. I hope you have a Mac!
slstrother Posted May 29, 2002 Posted May 29, 2002 Character Map. Usually located in Start>Programs>Accessories. If it is not there, you can start it with Start>Run then type in charmap, then hit OK.
paulage77 Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 Hmmm... Is there also a way to do a non-break hyphen like the em-dash?
Kurt Knippel Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 Yes you can. The procedure is the same. Option-Dash on Mac, some ALT combination on Windows.
danjacoby Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 Actually, on a Mac, option-hyphen returns an en dash, option-shift-hyphen returns an em dash. Pedantic of me.
