droosan Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 I have my osX machine publishing to itself fine by putting the ip address in the browser. My os9 machine doesn't get it however. My osX machine file shares (through appletalk) to the os9 machine so I know there is a physical ethernet connection. Has anyone succeeded in this? Although my os9 machine can connect to the osX machine via appletalk, I get an error (Server not responding, try again.) when I try to connect to it by entering the ip address into the chooser. Could this be a symptom of the same problem?
Garry Claridge Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 Is TCP/IP setup on the OS 9 computer? Is 'Web Companion' enabled in FM, and which port is it set for? Good Luck. Garry
droosan Posted June 24, 2002 Author Posted June 24, 2002 "Is TCP/IP setup on the OS 9 computer?" Yes, as far as I can tell. How can I check? I have messed around with the tcp/ip control panel. Do I need to do something with the Filesharing control panel even though it isn't an os9 sharing situation? "Is 'Web Companion' enabled in FM, and which port is it set for?" Yes, and since I can get to it from IE on the serving machine, companion seems to be working. 80, or rather I haven't changed it. Thanks
