IWP and SMTPit

Featured Replies

Is there any way to trigger SMTPit through IWP? I see that there are other ways using PHP or other more complicated programming methods, but for simpletons like me I was hoping that I could get IWP to send emails using SMTPit.

If the script is running on the host machine, why does it make a difference if it is triggered by someone coming in through IWP? It seems that in FM7's version of IWP, scripts run much more effectively than they did in previous versions.

Thanks in advance

Tom

Running scripts through the web is problematic.

Please don't mention "scripts" and "web" in the same post again, you'll wake up Keith. ;-)

E-mailing can be done very easily and reliably in Custom Web Publishing.

I guess I am trying to get it done on the cheap - I presume that you need FM Server 7 Advanced to get the Custom Web publishing feature and that costs quite a bundle.

For a workaround, I was thinking about having a separate table that would "store" information about emails that need to be sent temporarily and then have the host machine send the emails and clear the table on a periodic basis using something like the Events plug in from Waves in Motion.

I hope that I don't offend Keith here (although I am not sure who he is...)

Thanks again
