I have followed the instructions in the manual and provided here in other posts to the letter. What am I missing?

I have 1) turned on the Web Companion plugin and configured it to use the default.htm page and port 591 (yes IWP is turned on); 2) set the file -> sharing to use Web Companion; 3) have ensured there's no wierd password problem (by removing the passwords - having full access w/o a paswd for the time being). I have the DB files in a local dir (not in "Web"). When I browse to localhost:591 or even my IP address:591 (which is not static but I looked it up), I only get the stock default page with the boring text about Web Companion.

What am I missing? I am going crazy - I must be missing something really obvious here...Shouldn't the default page show the DBs that are online and shared? Do I need to edit the html page to put in a start link?

More info: if I change the file from default.htm to some custom named but empty file, then check that file's source, I get, basically, a blank HTML file:

"<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

<HTML><HEAD>

<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>

<BODY></BODY></HTML>"
