Please help! If the answer to my query has been posted before please direct me!

I am using FM 5.5. I want to instant web publish a database.

I am on a network with a local IP address. My server is connected to a Netgear router/adsl modem.

When i publish a database as per instructions I can view it wihtin the network but not from the web.

What am I doing wrong?

You need to open the following ports on your router to allow access to the machine running the database.

? Port 5003 - This is the FileMaker Data port. This port is not configurable.

? Port 50006 ? This is the port that the Helper Service listens on. This port is not configurable.

? Port 50003 - When the Server Service starts it first listens on this port, then automatically connects to

I usually just open 5003 and everything seems to work, plus the less ports you open the more secure you are.

PS I pinched the bullet points from a QuinTech post on this site.
