JFul27 Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 Hey all, Have a newly published db in IWP, with no records. Although I have tested the db before release multiple times with no errors, users are now unable to enter a new record into the database. On my backup db, all still looks fine. Users are getting a pop up with 'Unknown Error Number 6' when trying to enter a new record. Has anyone ever seen this or know what the problem might be? Help PLEASE! Thanks
Vaughan Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 It'll probably be file permissions. That is, the permissions given to the FMP database file on the host machine.
JFul27 Posted February 9, 2005 Author Posted February 9, 2005 Vaughan, Thanks for your response - you were right on the button. A small change to the permission set and everything is working fine. Greatest regards, Jamie
Newbies poets Posted February 10, 2005 Newbies Posted February 10, 2005 I 'm having the same problem, what is the permission setting? Please let me know thanks
JFul27 Posted February 10, 2005 Author Posted February 10, 2005 Poets, Try this first... Go into your db (not on the web) as admin and create a test record. Users will then be able to create additional records without the error. Once you have real records in your db, you can go ahead and delete the initial test entry. Let me know how this works....
