FossilFM Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 I've got FileMaker Pro 7 running and I'm trying to get IWP to work but been unsuccessful. Below are the steps I did: 1. Created my FM File 2. Under Sharing I selected "Instant Web Publishing...". 3. Turned on Instant Web Publishing 4. Selected my FM File and had it accessible to All users. I figured I just needed to type in my IP in my browser but my browser says in cannot connect to server. Is there something fundamental that I am missing to get IWP to work? I've read the documentation and followed their instructions but still no luck. Thanks for any advice...
Reed Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Did you assign a different port number (besides 80) in the advanced options? If you did, you need to append a colon and the port number after the IP address.
Newbies ibfm Posted May 14, 2005 Newbies Posted May 14, 2005 Trying to set up IWP in total Mac office with no luck. I can get the database to show in Safari on the host machine but cannot connect from any other in office. The database shows on Safari on host using localhost:591 (and 192.168.0.13:591). When I try to connect, using Safari, from other macs using 192.168.0.13:591 I get NO response. At this point I only want IWP with 5 users internally. Some details: Sharing: Personal File Sharing ON, Personal Web Sharing ON Filemaker: Sharing>Filemaker Network ON, Instant Web Publishing ON (Port 591 set in Advanced) FM Pro 7.0v3. Downloaded latest Web Support and Web fmplugin - both 7.0v5 Did Restart after setting up - system message requested changed port due to conflict so I went to 591. Office network details: 5 Macs on Panther (10.3.9) using Safari 1.3. Networked via Ethernet Hub with Internet through Router and DSL modem. Help, please.
Reed Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Can the macs communicate with each other using other network protocols? (ssh, file sharing, filemaker networking)
Newbies ibfm Posted May 21, 2005 Newbies Posted May 21, 2005 I had turned on both Filemaker Network Sharing and IWP. When I turned off Network Sharing it worked fine. Thanks for responding.
