Custom URL for finding records in IWP

Is it possible to construct a URL into a IWP database so that the database can be opened on a particular layout with a particular record or set of records displayed? In effect, the URL would open the IWP database, run a search on one or more fields and display the results of the find.

Or will I have to resort to CWP?
