IWP and FMSA7 and FMP7

Featured Replies

I have a frustrating situation going on and would appreciate some help. I have FMSA7 setup on a Mac running OS X 10.2.4 with 22 files being hosted. 18 of the 22 I am serving via XSLT and they work well. The remaining 4 files are being accessed via IWP. I keep getting an error message from the IWP files. The file will appear in the browser as if it is ready to be worked in, however, all I can do is read the file. I cannot create new, add, edit, etc.

I have created new access accounts, passwords, etc., to no success.

Again, all of the XML/XSLT pages work with the files, and work well. All of the IWP are giving me a "read-only" error message, even though the access privileges are set up for "full access" which includes IWP in the privilege sets.

I can take these same files, open them up in FMP7 and access them via IWP without any problems, whatsoever. They work flawlessly in FMP7, but give me the "read-only" error message from FMSA7.

I have tried accessing the files via IE browser from Mac and Windows XP, with the same "read-only" error message. I even set up another server running OS X panther, same issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Make sure the files belong to the fmsadmin group. Open the /Library/FileMaker Server 7/Data/Databases folder, click on a file in the Finder, go File>Get Info. Check the Ownership & Permissions, the Group must be fmsadmin and the Access must be Read & Write.
