I am working on an Order System/Accounting Sollution for the company I work for. I was wondering whether it would make sense to design it to run solely IWP. I don't really understand the whole concept yet, and would like to know if it is worth my time. There will currently be about fifteen users, five of which will need to access from offsite. We had been looking into remote control options, but IWP sounds to be better.

Also, are there any issues with which browser is used to connect?

What I was thinking about doing, is using FM8 instead of what we are currently running(because of OS's), and just having all users, even onsite, use the IWP.

Please let me know if this will be worth my time to design. Thank You

There are a number of limitations to IWP - the most prominent being that some script steps will not function in the IWP environment (you can see which ones are Web-Compatible in ScriptMaker). You lose the ability to go into Preview Mode, spell-checking doesn't work, formatting can get a bit wonky, and other items.

Having said that, IWP works great if all the users will be doing is basic data access and entry. You can of course have users concurrently accessing the system via FMP and IWP, which you should look into.

Somewhere in the documentation on IWP there is a fairly comprehensive list of what you can't do in IWP - or perhaps someone else will chime in with a quick list.

As far as browsers, I believe IWP works fine with any up to date browser.

I am currently running FM5.5. Are there any more script steps available in FM8 than these?
