I have two db published via IWP (FMSA7, IIS on Win2000 TS). One works fine, just the usual web quirks. The other one gives intermittent login problems. Some days users get "Error 13" (file or object is in use). If I restart the Server, the problem is fixed- temporarily. I shouldn't have to restart FMSA several times a week, though. While one db gives a login error, the other does not so I know it isn't Server or WPE. Anyone else have this weirdness? Any ideas on it?

I've had this error for the last year. The only good news I can give you is, you don't have to completely restart FMSA.

Go to Services:

You'll see three or four Filemaker services. The top two are like Filemaker Publishing Engine (CWPE & CONFIG) and Filemaker Publishing Engine (WPC)

Restart both of those services and that will make the error 13 go away.

I've ended up creating a batch file and scheduleing it to run every night and restart those services, it generally does a pretty good job about stopping it from happening.

I'm still suspicious that it has something to do with end users actions, but I'm not positive.

Thanks- I'll set up a schedule for a restart daily. It's still weird that only one of the two hosted IWP files had the problem, though.
