sleepinggypsy Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Are there any FMSA 8 plug-ins or produxts that allow automatic emailing from IWP? It seems that SMTPit does not work with Server Advanced. Outside of a plug-in, what is the best way to send emails using strictly IWP?
Freddd Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Yes, I forgot the name, BUT, it gets installed on the server and uses java to send mail. You could use PHP as well I guess, depending on what you were doing.
sleepinggypsy Posted January 28, 2006 Author Posted January 28, 2006 I'd like to send an email immediately upon a record being created to the creator of the record. I'd also like fetaures such as the ability to retrieve a password via email. All from IWP. If you could give me the java plug-in or any other info I'd greatly appreciate it!

FMWebschool Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Take a peek at this as well, you don't need to buy a plugin. http://www.fmwebschool.com/resources/iwpphp/iwpphp.html In Kindness Stephen K Knight http://www.fmwebschool.com
sleepinggypsy Posted February 14, 2006 Author Posted February 14, 2006 Excellent! I was just about to add a post to figure out the newset problem I am facing using xml/xslt and IWP, which is that since it requires passing variables via openurl script step, pop-up blockers MUST be turned off or the email isn't generated! Can I assume that your method doesn't use the openurl script step, thus pop-up windows being blocked makes no difference? Can it be used with FMSA? BTW, I am very interested in purchasing your IWP book or video series or fx.php. Is this technique in any of them? Would this type of IWP/PHP interaction fall under fx.php or IWP series in your materials? Thanks!
