I have not used filemaker in a while but now run against some new things and wonder if they are now available ..

Custom Html designed page that has call tags to pull up the databases//

Also ajax would be nice to know how it handels it all.. I saw the posts here of sites but no kinda new users guide ..

If you want to go with XSLT:

FMSA Custom Web Publishing Guide.

XSLT Site Assistant that comes with FMSA.

XSLT :P Programmer's Reference by Michael Kay.

AJAX in Action by Dave Crane and Eric Pascarello.

If you want to go with PHP, check the FMWebSchool web pages.

I second that. We have been very happy with FMWebschool's new book. FileMaker Ultimate Guide to Web Publishing. Their site is at: http://www.fmwebschool.com

Hmm cool!

One bit on on all of this, can it allow custom searching likle a web forum has advanced mode ? Or will that get lost in the shuffle on the export ??

With Custom web publishing you rcan certainly allow complex search routines. The majority of online forums are built with PHP. With IWP, no.

FileMaker uses FX.php which is basically a sub-class of PHP. So the answer is a resounding yes :
