This is a little off topic for the Web Companion list, but has anyone come across an add-on package that acts as an email server (aka Outlook) that routes incoming email to the application and allows you to send email from the applications and log/save the correspondence?

I have tried to get .mail.it from Dacons working with no success.

Thanks for your assistance.

Outlook isn't an email server, it's a client. But yes, there were some AppleScripts freely available (for MacOS only of course) that allowed FMP to "import" messages from Eudora.

I dunno where to get them unfortnately.

Comm-Unity Networking Systems announces the release of SMTPit 2.5b1, for FileMaker Pro 4.x and 5.x for both Macintosh and Windows Platforms. SMTPit is a FileMaker plug-in that allows you to send email directly from FileMaker without the aid of any helper applications. To use it, all you will need is an email address, an SMTP server, and FileMaker Pro 4.x or 5.x.

Saw this on fileville site recently. Might help. there is a script step in filemaker called "send mail"
