How do I insert a database in my hp?

Starting from scratch, I have completed my database using FM pro 5. I want to make the database available on a cutomised portal using Claris HP. How should I proceed without using the FM connection assistant? A detailed procedure would be much appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.

Err, why don't you want to use the FileMaaker Comnnection Assistant in Home Page 3? It makes ther job sooo much eaasier.

If the FileMaker Connection Assistant keeps crashing FMP, there is aa bug fix for Web Companion on the filemaker web site.
