DrugBust Posted June 4, 2001 Posted June 4, 2001 Do the access privileges I make in my database for multiple groups and passwords still work when I use the Web Security Database? They don't seem to...
dspires Posted June 4, 2001 Posted June 4, 2001 You can configure the Web Companion to use either the Web Security Database or the FileMaker Pro Access Privileges (Preferences/Application/Plugins).
DrugBust Posted June 4, 2001 Author Posted June 4, 2001 The thing I liked about the Web Security Database was the password protection on-line. So when they clicked on a database a pop up window came up asking for a password. Will filemaker do the same? I can't seem to get that working.
Vaughan Posted June 5, 2001 Posted June 5, 2001 If web companion is configured to use FileMaker access prvileges (and not web security) then users will be prompted for a *password* only. The browser authentication box has a field for usename, but FMP ignors it and only checks the password. Note that if the database has a <no password> defined, the browser won;t ask for a password to browse the database.
