I've created a set of nine simple databases which are used by a pool of about 80 users, all of whom connect through the Web Companion (5.0v6) once a day to input a small amount of data by editing a single record in only one of the nine databases.

What I am finding is sort of random "hang-ups" where Web Companion simply stops connecting to a given database. The database itself remains unaffected, running normally in Filemaker 5 Unlimited (5.0v3). However, any subsequent web users get a "Database is closed" message when trying to access the "closed" database. Other running databases are not affected. The problem is remedied by simply closing and re-opening the database file.

The Error Log entries look like this:

[29/Jun/2001:17:56:14 -0800] HTTP session disconnected.

I'm looking through the Access Log, but so far have seen nothing which points to a consistant pattern of behavior which would lead to this disconnection.

Any help or advice is appreciated. I'm going to be away for a few days and so may not immediately respond to any replies to this post.

Thanks,

David Watson
