Newbies uberhawk Posted November 19, 2001 Newbies Posted November 19, 2001 I'm pulling my hair out over this...reasonably sure I'm doing something stupid... Have a simple order entry setup, three databases. One parent with the address info, one item entry database for the order items which looks up another child with the item description. The order item info is displayed in a portal on the parent. This works great in FM, but when I try it out in a web browser, I can't enter data in the portal! If I do the entry in FM, it displays properly in the browser, I just can't enter via the browser. I'm lost, and I'm hoping it's a simple, stupid thing that someone will recognize quickly. Thanks, Daryl
Jeff Spall Posted November 19, 2001 Posted November 19, 2001 Hi, when you want to amend or create related files from a web page, you have to connect to the related database first, so it's one more click away! Several methods have been discussed on the Forum and I've been using a couple, so mail me if you want some examples. oh, and the bad news is that I'm pretty sure that you can't do it within instant web publishing. regards, jeff

Yeah, that's pretty much what I figured out... God I miss Tango...I was actually pretty good with it, still can't believe how that all ended up. Thanks, Daryl
