Field Access Restriction You do not have access privileges to perform:

Using FMP 5.04 on Mac with Instant publishing enabled. No user access restrictions implemented. When selecting "Submit" after editing a record, receive the message:

Field Access Restriction You do not have access privileges to perform the action: Edit

Any ideas?

I do not know 5.0 and do not know if this will help. My knowledge is from 4.0v3, and from custom web publishing, not instant. In that version and under those conditions, in order to activate my files via the web page (format file) I must have the "Web Security" opened, and the boxex must be checked to allow the action you want. If the "Edit" box is not checked, the message to which you refer appears (in version 4.0v3). In the development stage, I use no db password; and my User Name is designated as All Users, and I provide no User Password.

Keith, Thanks for your help. It turns out I had a auto-enter date field in the database which I did not allow the user to modify. Since that field appeared on the Web-edit page, when I tried to submit, it generated the error, even if I was not modifying the field.

Hooray for the search function and this forum! I had the same problem and it was driving me absolutely bonkers! grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif
