emailaff Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Hi everyone! I'm new to file FMP, and i wish to know if there's anyway that i could publish my files and data in the web and make changes via internet? I wish i could open my data in a web browser and make changes that will automatically sync with my laptop at home. Is that possible? Please, i'll be glad if you help me! Thanks!
Newbies davemill Posted March 21, 2008 Newbies Posted March 21, 2008 The good news is, this capability is built into Filemaker. It is called Instant Web Publishing. It has some limitations, but you can perform most operations through a browser. You can also open a Filemaker database remotely over the internet. This requires use of a copy of filemaker on the client machine. If you use this option, you can edit layouts and define tables, everything you can do on a local database. In the Filemaker Pro 8.5 help file (hint, hint) the relevant topic is "Publishing databases on the web" Good luck!
