Newbies StevieW Posted April 25, 2008 Newbies Posted April 25, 2008 Hi, wonder if anyone can help. Every time I try to turn on Instant Web Publishing I get an error saying there is a port conflict and that I should change the port number. At the moment it defaults to 80. However, no matter what port number I use I keep getting the conflict error message. Can anyone suggest where I could look for a solution? I am running Windows XP with SP2 installed. Thanks.
Genx Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Hi Stevie, Try turning windows firewall off, otherwise open up the windows command console (Click start>run>"cmd">Ok) and type "netstat -b" less the quotes. That will tell you what app's are running on what ports. It's normally skype...
Newbies StevieW Posted April 26, 2008 Author Newbies Posted April 26, 2008 Hi Genx Thanks for your reply. I have Windows firewall turned off already as I use ESET Smart Security for my firewall. Tred disabling ESET but no difference. Tried running netstat and noting ports in use. However, Filemaker won't let me change to any port number. Whichever one I try is always says there is a conflict. I do run Skype, but have closed that down and it made no difference. Installed FM on another PC and it let me change the port number so it must be something about my PC. Not sure where to go from here....perhaps starting in Safemode and then trying it.. Any further help would be appreciated. Thanks.
