Image in a portal not showing in IWP

I have a several buttons on a layout that show a text field and an image from a record in a related table.

Each button is actually a portal, displaying only one row but starting at a different row.

Both image and text display in the client but only the text displays in IWP.

  • The image is in a container field (stored in the file) and the field itself does display in IWP - it is just empty when in the portal.

  • If I delete the portal (leaving the text and image fields) both display in IWP.

  • I have played with the layout front/back order of the fields and portal to no avail.

  • I have checked that none of the elements have any fill colour.

  • I have used the same method in another file to create buttons that show the exact same image and text and these WORK in IWP! (cutting and pasting the layout objects from here hasn't helped)

Any suggestions as to what to try next??

I stopped bashing my head against that particular brick wall, and instead changed the relationship so that the link to the related table was more direct (rather than through an intermediate table).

Each portal row 'button' now shows both text and image in IWP now. Yay!
